Rodney Allen "Rod" Carter

Rodney Allen “Rod” Carter, age 72 of Paris, TN, died Friday, October 6, 2023, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.

He retired from Dana Corporation where he worked in engineering automation.  Rod was a Ham Radio operator whose call letters were KR4WP.  He loved working with his hands and built his house from the ground up.  He enjoyed piloting and scuba diving.  

Rod was born July 15, 1951, in Springfield, OH, to the late Ray Vensel Carter and the late Virginia Ruth Gross Carter.

He was married September 7, 1974, to Rose Vanderelli Carter, who survives, of Paris, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by two children, Sharel (Mike) Bieterman of Latrobe, PA, and Mike Carter of Union City, TN; one sister, Lucinda Carter of Paris, TN; two brothers-in-law, Timm (Meg Glasstetter) Vanderelli & families of Ligorier, PA, and Mark (Sarah) Vanderelli & families of Latrobe, PA; and one grandson, Austin Carter of Union City, TN.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Tim Carter; and one uncle, Bill Carter. 

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  The body is to be cremated with no services planned at this time.
