Shelley Jean Neil

Shelley Jean Neil, age 74 of McKenzie, TN, died Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.

She was a homemaker and a former teacher’s aid in Oregon.  Shelley was an avid quilter, a member of The Quilter’s Guild, and a member of the Paris First United Methodist Church Quilting Group.  She enjoyed playing card games on the computer and taking care of people, especially her family.

Shelley was born May 11, 1949, in Alexandria, VA, to the late Richard Lykken and the late Margaret Moser Lykken.

She was married June 21, 1976, to Michael “Mike” Neil, who survives, of McKenzie, TN.

Along with her husband, she is also survived by two sons, Jason Brvenik of Baltimore, MD, and Michael Neil of Grand Junction, CO; five grandchildren, Victor, Aaron, Addy, Emily, and Anna; and two great grandchildren, Lucas, and Constance.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters; one brother; and one sister-in-law, Vickie Newton; and one grandson, Caleb. 

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  The body is to be cremated with no services planned at this time.
