Sidney James Wallett, Jr. age 80 of Paris, TN, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Sidney was born in Chicago, IL, on May 21, 1945, to the late Sidney James Wallett, Sr., and the late Elma Simonella Wallett.
He married Wilma Jean Fugate Wallett on June 18, 1967. Wilma survives of Paris, TN.
Sidney dedicated 26 years to the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago, IL, working for the United State Postal Service, missing only one day of work during a workers’ strike. After retiring, he relocated to Paris, Tennessee, in 1992, where he enjoyed spending his time fishing on Kentucky Lake and the Tennessee River.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; and was always there for his family. He was a longtime Chicago Bears fan and, after moving to Tennessee, also became a fan of the Tennessee Titans. His fondness for Chicago also inspired his love for Ace’s Pizza in Paris.
In addition to his wife, Sidney is survived by three children, Anita (Mike) Krach of Noblesville, IN, Sandra (Keith) Skelnik of Streamwood, IL, and Eric (Kimberley) Wallett, Sr. of Paris, TN; two brothers, Tom Wallett and Chuck Wallett; three sisters, Ann Bishop, Betty Combs, and Judy Fisher; 10 grandchildren, Rebecca (John) DeGroot, Keith (Kallie) Skelnik, Jr., Sid (Alex) Skelnik, Scott (Destiny) Wallett, Dillon Skelnik, Eric Wallett, Jr., Trista Skelnik, Michael Krach, Jr., Jimmy Krach, and Emmalyn Wallett; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Marcocig; and a brother, Bob Wallett.
Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. His remains are to be cremated with a memorial visitation to take place on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Ridgeway Funeral Home, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., with a memorial service beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Inurnment of Remains will follow the memorial service at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroad, at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026.
