Steven Leon Martin. age 70, of Stevensville, Michigan, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris, TN.
Steve was born on November 5, 1954, to the late Leon Martin and Katherine (Phelps) Martin in Paris, TN. He attended Grove and Henry County High School and then in his late teens, he moved to Michigan, where he established a home and created a family. Throughout his career, Steve worked for several companies before joining Gast Manufacturing as a machinist. Over his 20-year tenure, he also took on quality control responsibilities. Steve was dependable, dedicated, and never shied away from the demands of a labor-intensive job.
Though Steve chose to live his life in Michigan, Tennessee and his friends and family here were never far from his heart. He loved the element of surprise and often announced his unexpected arrival with a knock on the door. His great-nieces and nephews adored him and looked forward to his visits and also to seeing how much money he could find behind their ears! Steve's personality was larger than life. He never met a stranger, loved to joke with everyone he met, and had a heart that loved deeply.
Steve is survived by his wife, Jayne Martin; children, Lindsay Martin, Whitney (Benjamin) Schueneman, and Joseph (Andrea) Martin; grandchildren, Connor Dean, Gavyn Martin, Karlisle Schueneman, Taylor Schueneman, and Sophia Martin; stepchildren, Andrew (Brittney) Daniel and Lira Castillo; step-grandchildren, Mathew Daniel, Leah Daniel, Leonardo Castillo; and sisters Karolyn (Dickie) Mobley and Marsha (Glenn) Fowler.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Christopher Mobley.
