Sue Ann Wynns Cowell Shepherd

Sue Ann Wynns Cowell Shepherd, age 91 of Pensacola, FL, formerly of Paris, TN, passed away peacefully Thursday October 30, 2025 in Pensacola, FL.

Sue Ann was born on June 19, 1934, to the late Lucian Porter Wynns and Mattie Greene Wynns.

She was raised in the Nobles community and graduated from Grove High School in 1952. Sue Ann was employed for 30 years with the University of Tennessee Henry County Extension Service as an administrative assistant. Sue Ann was known for her dedication, kindness and commitment to helping others. Sue Ann will be remembered for her warmth, faith, and friends.

Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Paris, TN.

Sue Ann is survived by her husband Robert Jerry Shepherd of Pensacola, Fl, her daughter Myra (Rusty) Walker of Pulaski, TN, and two cherished granddaughters, Stephanie Walker of Winchester, TN, and Rachel Walker of Paris, TN. Sue Ann’s “Bonus Family” also includes Deb (Jerry) Newton of Pensacola, FL, Denise (Ron) Cobb of Bradenton, FL, Scott (Karla) Shepherd of Rockwell, TX, Patrick (Danielle) Shepherd of Pensacola, FL, who brought additional joy in her later years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by, her husband of 45 years, Bernard Cowell, her son, Kenneth Wynns Cowell and one brother L.P. Wynns.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held Friday, November 7, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A graveside service will be held Friday November 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Walker Cemetery in Paris, TN, with Johnathan Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery in Paris, TN, with David Wynns, Gary Burns, George Lyon, Jerry Newton, Scott Shepherd, Patrick Shepherd serving as pallbearers. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Jeff Pennington.
