Theresa P. “Terri” Bryan, age 101 of Puryear, TN, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at The Farms of Puryear.

Terri was born in York, PA, on December 31, 1923, to the late Thomas M. Tedesco and the late Henrietta Gross Tedesco.

She married Robert T. Bryan in Cleveland, OH, on May 30, 1946. Robert preceded her in death on July 26, 1993.

Terri became a member of the U.S. Navy Jazz Band after being discovered while singing in a trio with her sister, Pauline. She had a passion for music and arts. She served for many years as choir director at Puryear Methodist Church and as interim choir director at First United Methodist Church-Paris, and First Presbyterian Church-Paris. She also directed the acapella group Rainbow of Sound. Terri collaborated with her husband Robert nationally syndicated jazz program for WKMS radio station in Murray, KY, and continued to produce the show for some time after his death.

She and Robert lived in various places across the Midwest before retiring in Puryear, TN. In addition to her musical pursuits, she was a talented painter, winning local awards for her work. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, Paris Women’s Club, PEO of Murray, and Bridge Club.

Terri is survived by her two children, Barry (Kim) Bryan, and Susan Powell, both of Puryear, TN; a sister, Sylvia Barley of York, PA; four grandchildren, Travis J. Powell, Eric T. Powell, Brooke Krawetz, and Kerry Krawetz; two great-grandchildren, Sebastian Hogan, and Tennessee Shepherd; and a sister-in-law, Karen Tedesco.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one grandchild, Matthew S. Powell; three sisters, Marguerite (Lester) Wintermeyer, Pauline (Curvin) Kindig, and Mary (Bob) Carpenter; a brother, Thomas Tedesco; and a brother-in-law, Don Barley.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. Her remains are to be cremated. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to WKMS radio station in Murray.
