Thomas Patrick Dalton

Thomas Patrick “Tom” Dalton, age 83 of Paris, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at Saint Thomas West in Nashville, Tennessee.

Tom was born July 29, 1942, at Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, to Joseph Arthur Dalton and Margaret Mary Brady Dalton, both deceased.

On February 19, 1994, Tom married Lorri Lamb Dalton, who survives in Paris, Tennessee.

Tom was a Christian and attended First Baptist Church Paris. Tom thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship and learning he found at First Baptist. Tom was a great husband, father, friend, and an exceptional “Grandpa.”

Tom was a 1960 graduate of Central High School in Toledo and a 1964 graduate of the University of Toledo, earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting. For more than 40 years, he made his career as an industrial leader in the pharmaceutical and automotive industries. He held several leadership positions with Owens-Illinois, Inc., McKesson Company, and Fayette Tubular before moving to Paris in 1992 to take over as president of Plumley Companies, Inc. He led Plumley through its acquisition with the Dana Corporation, leading the division until his retirement.

Tom was passionate about nature, the outdoors, and was an avid sportsman. He loved being around his horses on the farm, fishing, and hunting, particularly his annual hunting trips with friends and family to Wyoming.

He was a passionate fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and his alma mater Toledo Rockets. Upon moving to Tennessee, he became a supporter of the state’s professional teams, becoming a season ticket holder in the first season of both the Nashville Predators and Tennessee Titans, sharing his love of sports with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his son, Tom (Becky) Dalton, of Maumee, Ohio, three daughters, Julie Dalton, of Maumee, Christina (Scott) Mirtes, of Waterville, Ohio, Fawn (Ian Douglass) Dalton, of Atlanta, Georgia, two step-sons, Matthew (Megan) Crouch, of Auburn, Alabama, Jacob Crouch, of White Bluff, Tennessee; two brothers, Joseph (Andria Richey) Dalton, of Sequim, Washington, Dave (Sharon) Dalton, of Westerville, Ohio; and eight grandchildren, Ryan (Elizabeth) Dalton, Andrew Dalton, Jack, Anna, and Joey Yeager, Liam and Lyla Douglass, and Morgan (Marcus) Fritz; three great grandchildren, Penelope Junga, Porter Dalton, and Callahan Fritz, best friend, Tim (Bonnie) Wirgau.

Tom is also survived by his brother-in-law, Jeff (Velvet) Lamb; three sisters-in-law, Brenda (Floyd) Lessmann, Janice (Steve Vaughn) Lamb, Susan (Mike) Bryant, and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Timothy Francis Dalton.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held Monday, October 6, 2025, from 4 – 7 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home and will continue Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Dr. Trent Bullock officiating

Pallbearers will be Matthew Crouch, Jacob Crouch, Ryan Dalton, Andrew Dalton, Jack Yeager, and Joey Yeager.

Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN..
