Thomas G. "Tom" Isbell

Thomas G. “Tom” Isbell, age 90, of Paris, TN, died Monday, February 5, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.

He retired after many years from Chrysler in St. Louis, MO. He was a Baptist by belief. Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling. He loved doing handyman work and could fix up any projects for his family.

Tom was born November 26, 1933, in Trimble, TN, to the late Allen Sinclair Isbell and the late Katie Mai Hinson Isbell.

He was married February 17, 1951, to Betty J. McRee Isbell who died on March 29, 2020.

He is also survived by four children; Deborah “Deb” Wampler of Paris, TN, Rita (Thomas) Robertson of Arnold, MO, Roger (Susan) Isbell of Valley Park, MO, Donna (Byron) Eller of Paris, TN; two brothers, Jimmie Isbell of Paris, TN, Don (Nell) Isbell of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Sarah McFarland, Sue McGee, both of Paris; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Isbell of Marion, IL, Sherry Isbell of Otto, MO; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by; two sons, Thomas Richard Isbell, Dariel Ray Isbell; three brothers, William Robert Isbell, Billy Joe Isbell, John R. Isbell; and two grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service at 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Johnny Patterson officiating.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

 Burial will be at Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN.
