Tommy Joe “Tom” Richardson, age 82 of Springville, TN, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at his residence.
He was born September 27, 1943, in Harlan, KY, to the late Lewis Earl Richardson, and the late Bertha Harmon Richardson.
Tom married Carol Taylor Richardson on March 12, 1994. Carol survives of Springville, TN.
Tom dedicated 38½ years of service to General Motors and the UAW International Union. He was a member of Paris First United Methodist Church and was involved in the Syrian Shriners in Cincinnati, the Valley of Cincinnati Scottish Rite, and Washington Lodge #17 Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio, 32nd Degree. He enjoyed playing golf, especially with the Paris Landing Senior Players group, traveling, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by five children, Aimee (Clinton) Acosta of Lebanon, TN, Kelley (Will) Bothe of Rochester Hills, MI, Karen (Tony Birmingham) Boase of Paris, TN, Marc (Melissa) Richardson of Attica, MI, and Mark Churchill of Springville, TN; seven grandchildren, Taylor Boase, Trinity Boase, Skylar Acosta, Kaitlyn Bothe, Tucker Richardson, Kamryn Acosta, and Mason Richardson; one sister, Ima Jean Carter of Fairfield, OH; and several nieces.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Maxine Phipps, and two brothers, Earl Richardson, and Carl Richardson.
Ridgeway Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. His remains are to be cremated with a memorial visitation and service to be held at a later date. Times and dates will be posted when finalized.
Following the service, Tom’s remains will be placed at Rosehill Cemetery in Hamilton, OH.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Bo Griffey, Dr. Stephanie Dunagan, and the nurses of West Tennessee Healthcare- Henry County Hospice.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Children's, in Tom's honor.
