Verble Scarbrough Adams

Verble Scarbrough Adams, age 96 of Buchanan, TN, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Charter Senior Living of Paris.

She was a member of Buchanan Community Church and an avid gardener. She was known for her springtime lawn display of azaleas, rhododendron, and wildflowers at her home in Buchanan.

Verble was born January 12, 1926, in Buchanan, TN, to the late Curtis “Curt” Scarbrough and the late Lois Willoughby Scarbrough.

She was married May 2, 1946, to Horace Lee Adams, who preceded her in death on October 20, 2013.

She is survived by her three sons, Ray Adams of Ewing, VA, Ronnie Lee (Janet) Adams of Lebanon, TN, and Vic (Lesa) Adams of Buchanan, TN; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Reva Scarbrough Ellis; and three brothers, Arlton Scarbrough, Joe Scarbrough, O.C. Scarbrough; and one daughter-in-law, Pam Adams.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Friday, February 25, 2022, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am.  The funeral service will be Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11:00 am at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Bennie Akers officiating.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Buchanan, TN.
