Vivian Ruth Thetford Sutton, age 93 of Paris, TN, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Henry County Health and Rehabilitation
Vivian was born in Idlewild, TN, on March 23, 1933, to the late Alf Thetford, and the late Era Arnold Thetford.
She married Paul D. Sutton on April 10, 1951. Paul preceded her in death on November 3, 1998.
Vivian was a longtime member of Springhill Baptist Church. She worked at Brown Shoe Company in Trenton, Tennessee, before spending 19 years at Mark-I in Henry. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed dressing up, having her hair styled, and shopping.
She is survived by three children, Paul W. (Patricia) Sutton, Greg (Betsy) Sutton, and Cheryl (Ricky) Owen, all of Paris, TN; two siblings, Betty Powers of Milan, TN, and Cletus (Lisa) Thetford of Bradford, TN; seven grandchildren, Kristie (Bill) Zimmerman, Melissa Sutton, Cayla (Tommy Sparks) Sutton, Katie (Jake) McElroy, Junior Carbajal, Belinda Carbajal, and Pedro Carbajal; seven great-grandchildren, Dylan (Nina Phifer) Cary, Dalton Cary, Dakota Cary, Andrew (Kaylee) Sutton, Tyler Sutton, Payton Sutton, and Indie Grace McElroy; two great-great grandchildren, Wyatt Cary and Paisley Sutton; and another great-great grandchild on the way, Weston Sutton.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Anita Barto; and one brother-in-law, Billy Powers.
Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Chad Kennedy.
Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery with Dylan Cary, Dalton Cary, Dakota Cary, Andrew Sutton, Tyler Sutton, and Payton Sutton serving as pallbearers.
