Wayne L Speight

Wayne L. Speight age 89 of Paris, died on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Wayne was born on May 16, 1937, to the late William Wayne Speight and to the late Gladys Marrs Speight.

He married Carol Ellen Buchen Speight in 2011.

Wayne retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1977 after serving twenty-two years and spending time in Vietnam. He later worked as a supervisor with Palm Tran services.

Besides his wife, Carol, he is survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Minnie B. Speight, and Ruby N. Speight; his brothers, William Barney Speight, Harris E. Speight, and William Wayne Speight, Jr.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN will be handling the service. Visitation will be Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the service to be held at 11:00 a.m. with Johnathan Smith officiating.

Family members will serve as pallbearers. 

Burial with military honors will follow the service at Memorial Cemetery.
