Gerald Barnett

William “Gerald” Barnett age 78 of Buchanan, TN, died on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at his residence.

Gerald was born in Paris, TN, on September 4, 1947, to the late William Lathal Barnett and the late Mary Rebecca “Becky” Routzahn Barnett.

On May 23, 1987, Gerald married Martha Beasley Barnett. Martha survives of Buchanan, TN.

He was raised in Whitlock and graduated from E.W. Grove School in 1965. He began his career at Holley Carburetor in Paris before opening MB Tooling in 1986. MB tooling later transitioned into AB Tooling, where he worked until retiring in 2009 after 23 years.

Gerald was a devoted family man and always the voice of reason for his girls. He remained calm in every situation and was prepared for anything. He was a die-hard Tennessee football fan who always listened to John Ward’s call of the game. He loved fishing, sharing stories, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Andrea (Kyle) Norwood of Henry, TN, and Molly Grace (Cody) Winchester of Paris; four grandchildren, Will Norwood, Luke Norwood, Sawyer Matheny, and Sadie Winchester; one sister, Becky (Karonel) Plott of Paris; and special friends, Roland Alexander, Keith Cheek, Mike Seawright, and Randy Wade.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Friday, May 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Cody Bryson officiating.

Entombment will be in the Rose Lawn Mausoleum with Kyle Norwood, Cody Winchester, Matt Matheny, Sawyer Matheny, Will Norwood, Luke Norwood, and Spencer Plott serving as pallbearers.
