William Herman “Big Bill” Zuckschwerdt, Sr., age 74 of Paris, TN, died Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Henry County Healthcare & Rehab.
He retired after a long career with Setco Automotive, formerly Midland Brake in Paris. Bill was an avid collector of knives, arrowheads, and Native American memorabilia. He enjoyed auctions, antique shopping, and loved his dog, Bear. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was Baptist by belief.
Bill was born September 16, 1949, in Paris, TN, to the late Otto Zuckschwerdt and the late Gracie Wade Zuckschwerdt.
He is survived by his two sons, William Herman “Little Bill” Zuckschwerdt, Jr., and Jeremy Michael Buie, both of Paris, TN; two sisters, Ruth (Randy) Phillips of Jackson, TN, and Kathy Crouch of Murray, KY; three brothers, Jimmie Zuckschwerdt of Hazel Green, AL, Jerry Zuckschwerdt of GA, and Danny (Stephanie) Zuckschwerdt of Puryear, TN; three granddaughters, Destiney Stevens, Haley Stevens, and Alora Morse; and six great grandchildren, Piper, Briar-Lynn, Atticus, Novah, Jeremiah, and Serenity.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four sisters, Deloris Williams, Dorothy Zuckschwerdt, Gloria Shumaker, and Treasa Newell; and one brother, Larry Zuckschwerdt.
Arrangements will be handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN, 38242. The body is to be cremated. A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11:00 am at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Big Sandy, TN with Danny Zuckschwerdt officiating.
Burial of cremains will follow the service in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
