William Aulden “Bill” Jones, age 92 of Springville, TN, died Friday, July 29, 2022, at his residence.
He served in the U.S. Armed Forces as a paratrooper for the 82nd airborne division. He enjoyed all things farming, mechanics, fishing, hunting, and anything he could do with his hands. Bill spent most of his adult life as an over the road semi-truck driver who was very proud of his president’s award for his 12,000,000 safe driving miles. He was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church. His joking sense of humor left a smile on all the faces of those who knew him, and he will be greatly missed by many.
Bill was born September 28, 1929, in Tallula, IL, to the late Willie Thomas Jones and Ida Lesta Robinson Jones.
He was married August 9, 1953, to Pat Jones, who preceded him in death on July 10, 2015.
He is survived by his two daughters, Patricia Jones (Jim) Koehler of Somerset, OH, and Deborah Thompson of Springville, TN, and his caregiver, Sandy McKamey of Springville, TN; one granddaughter, LaShawnda (Michael) Kirk; one step great granddaughter, JeriLynn Koehler; one brother, Cleo (Wilma) Jones of Stafford, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ida Mae Cook and Ossie Jones; four brothers, Ira Jones, Herman Jones, Floyd Jones, and Raymond Jones; and one step grandchild, Joshua Koehler.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Rev. Don Williams officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Kirk, Spencer Smith, Bill Weatherspoon, and Bob Thompson. Named as an honorary pallbearer is Tony Kirk.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, TN.
