Yolanda Bragg

January 7, 1939 — April 6, 2026

Puryear, TN

Yolanda Olga “Penny” Fuentes Bragg, age 87 of Puryear, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on January, 7, 1939 to the late Joseph Fuentes and late Yolanda Theresa Zimmerle Fuentes.

Penny married the love of her life Robert Wayne “Bob” Bragg on July 5, 1962. He preceded her in death on November 8, 2019. Penny was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and husband Bob. She was a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. During her years there, she was an active member of the Legion of Mary where she developed incredibly special and meaningful friendships.

In 1974, she and her family moved from Hickman, KY to Henry County, where she quickly became known as the “neighborhood mom”. She was a leader in both Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was an avid storyteller and loved to share her stories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was incredibly creative and talented when it came to all things crafting. Penny made some of the most memorable Halloween costumes and Rabbit stuffed animals for her children and grandchildren. She deeply enjoyed knitting and crocheting, especially when it was paired with a glass of wine. Penny was an incredible cook and enjoyed teaching all of her skills to her family. She made the most perfect flour tortillas and sugar cookies. Penny loved to be outside in the garden or going on different adventures with her friends and family. On top of all that Penny loved to shop. She always wanted to look her best and had a special eye for curating fashionable outfits. Penny had a huge heart, an infectious laugh, and so much love to give everyone she met. She gave such warm hugs and always stood on the porch to wave you goodbye as you left her sweet and welcoming home. But most of all, Miss Penny always had the most beautiful hair.

Penny is survived by two children, Jack Bragg of Puryear, TN, and Samantha (Jim) Kersten of Bettendorf, IA; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Bragg, Whitney (Brad) Gates, Mackenzie Kersten, and Sophia Kersten; and six great-grandchildren, Cate Bragg, Molley Bragg, Maddie Gates, Lilly Bragg, J.B. Gates, and Bryson Bragg. Special children: Tim, Debbie, Katherine, Samantha, Abigail Wynn, and J Michael, Amanda, Bradley, Everett French.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers Aaron Lee and Emil Lee.
