Barbara Carson

Barbara Jean Carson, age 84 of Paris, TN, died Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at her residence.

She was a retired cook for Henry County High School in Paris. Barbara enjoyed working in her yard and gardening. She was a highly active member of the Paris First United Pentecostal Church.

Born August 27, 1936, in Pocahontas, AR, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Lehman Coleman and the late Opal Lorean Shoe Coleman.

Barbara married Charles Carson on November 25, 1953, and he survives of Paris.

Besides her husband she is also survived by four children, Theresa (Rob) Toomey of Clarksville, TN, Donnie (Linda) Carson of Paris, Dennis (Denelle) Carson of Kenosha, WI, Ronnie (Diane) Carson of Tucson, AZ.; two sisters, Shirley (Richard) Haywood of Lake Station, IN, and Betty (Jerry) Purcell of Harriman, TN;11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dickie Dewayne “Dick” Carson; a brother Ralph Coleman; and a granddaughter, Erica Dawn Carson.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris TN 38242. Visitation will be Friday, September 4, 2020, from 11 am until 1 pm. The funeral service will be held Friday, September 4, 2020, at 1 pm in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Mark Kurtz and Stephen Hoots officiating.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Interment will follow in VanDyke Grove Cemetery in Paris, TN.
