Charles Killett, Jr,

Charles William Killett Jr., age 80 of Camden, TN, formerly of Paris, died Monday, May 10, 2021, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was a retired self-employed contractor. Charles formerly played football at Memphis State University and then went on to play professional football for the New York Giants.

Born November 8, 1940, in Helena, AR, he was the son of the late Charles William Killett, Sr., and the late Louise Proctor Killett.

He was married on May 15, 1970, to Shirley Jean Newsome Killett, who preceded him in death on July 25, 2014.

Survivors include four children, Kecia Killett of Camden, TN, Kimberly (Tracey) Cleaver of Bruceton, TN, Stephen (Brittany) Jaco of Dresden, TN, and Kyle (Mary) Killett of Brentwood, TN; one brother, Larry (Marilyn) Killett of Denham Springs, LA; 11 grandchildren, Adam Herbison, Chase Hill, Stephen Gray Jaco, Beau Jaco, Nia Grace Jaco, Josh Killett, Sophie Killett, Chloe Black, Chris Starnes, Chance Patton, and Chastin Ballard; and 3 great grandchildren, Kole William Patton, Grayson Jaco, and Cullen Jaco.

In addition to his wife and parents, Charles was also preceded in death by a brother, James Killett.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Thursday, May 13, 2021, from 11:00 am – 12:45 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with a graveside service at 1:00 pm at Memorial Cemetery in Paris with Chad Kennedy officiating.
