Charles Lovic "Charlie" Robertson

Charles Lovic “Charlie” Robertson, age 77 of Paris, TN, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at his residence.

He began his law enforcement career in 1973 with the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, where he served as Chief Deputy under Sheriff Dickie Bomar.  Charlie then moved to Alaska to work security for the Alaska Pipeline before transitioning back to law enforcement, working for the Anchorage Police Department until his retirement in 1991.  After retirement, Charlie moved back to Paris, rejoining the sheriff’s department as Chief Deputy under Sheriff Tom Jenkins.  He was a charter member of Trinity Methodist Church in Paris and attended Maplewood Baptist Church.  Charlie was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a Mason.

Charlie was born January 20, 1943, in Paris, TN, to the late Charles Lovic Robertson and the late Eleanor Lockhart Robertson.

He was married September 28, 1963, to his wife of 56 years, Gail Owens Robertson, who survives, of Paris, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by his daughter, Paige Wood of Paris, TN; his son, Chip (Ardy) Robertson of Anchorage, AK; two sisters, Sandra Johnson of Paris, TN, and Deborah Brossett of Springfield, MO; one brother, Ronnie (Cindy) Nance of Hot Springs Village, AR; and three grandchildren, Griffin Wood of Paris, TN, Avary Wood of Paris, TN, and Andrew Allison of Paris, TN.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Jim Robertson; and one aunt, Carleen “Chick” Robertson.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN 38242.  The body is to be cremated.  Memorial visitation will be Friday, February 14, 2020, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Maplewood Baptist Church, 8700 Highway 218 Bypass, Paris, TN 38242, with the memorial service beginning at 4:00 pm at Maplewood Baptist Church, with Corey Cain officiating.

Named as honorary pallbearers are Donnie Williams, Tom Ellis, David Tyler, Mike Brandon, Jerry Byrd, Eddie Wilson, Bill Harding, Mike Braswell, Terry Pierce, Grant Owens, and Rusty Turner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to:  St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
