Johnny Williams

John William “Johnny” Williams age 83 of Springville died Saturday, September 21, 2019, at the Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris.

Johnny was the retired owner and operator of Buchanan Resort.  He was a member of Russwood Baptist Church and the Buchanan Masonic Lodge # 773. Johnny had previously served in the National Guard.

Born June 20, 1936 in Buchanan, he was the son of the late John Thomas Williams and the late Kate Estelle Rowlett Williams.

Johnny married Carolyn Ann Buchanan Williams May 29, 1957. She preceded him in death on October 11, 2014.

He is survived by his two children, Pam (Rusty) Robison and John D. (Vonda) Williams, both of Springville; five grandchildren, Rebecca (Clint) Stewart, Leah Robison, Derrick (Lazaro Bencosme Del Rio) Williams, Rachel (Josh) McKee, and Hannah (Gavin) Shellnut; 3 great grandchildren, Caroline Stewart, Cora Stewart, and Abraham Stewart; a niece, Kim (Tom) Wilson of Springville, a nephew, Randy (Carlette) Scarbrough of Paris; a great niece, Elizabeth (Cooper) Brannen and their son Charlie; and a great nephew, Thomas Wilson.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN, 38242, will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2019, from 12:00 until 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be held in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at 2:00 pm with David Alan Jackson officiating.

Pallbearers for the service are David King, Tom Wilson, Brian Allen, Terry Williams, Dwayne Lax, and Ralph Nichols. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Dyer, Jack King, Nicky Lax, Bob Cathey, and Randy Scarbrough.

Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery in Springville.
