Johnnye Webb

Johnnye Pearl Roberts Webb, age 95 of Springville, TN, died Saturday, April 17, 2021, at her residence.

She formerly worked at Salant and Salant and retired from Missouri Department of Human Services as a Social Worker. Johnnye was a member of Cottage Grove Methodist Church, and formerly attended Russwood Baptist Church, in Buchanan. She loved traveling with her husband and family across the USA, reading the Bible, sewing, crocheting, quilting, and reading novels. She greatly enjoyed living at the lake and sharing her life with family and friends.

Johnnye was born August 17, 1925, in Cottage Grove, TN, to the late Charles Henry “Charlie” Roberts and to the late Irma Underwood Roberts.

She was married June 16, 1943, to John Wesley “Jub” Webb, who preceded her in death, December 18, 1993.

She is survived by one daughter, Cindy Webb Thresher of Springville; one sister-in-law, Becky (Jay) Miller of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Camille and Chad (Heather); nine great grandchildren, Zane, Zach, Kaitlyn, Christian, Courtney, Hunter, Briar, Luke, Dawson; and five great-great grandchildren, Zayden, Braxtyn, Zailey, Madelyn, and Emma.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by, one son-in-law, John Thresher; and one brother, Charles Roberts Jr.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 21, 2021, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at 1:00 pm, at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Joe Shannon officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be the former students and alumni of Cottage Grove School.

Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN.
