Ken Jones, age 58 of Paris, TN, died Monday, October 25, 2021, at his residence with his family by his side.

 

He worked for 33 years in sales for MSC Industrial Supply in Paris. Ken was a member of Missionary Grove Baptist Church of Camden. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and coaching baseball. Known to many as Coach Jones, he coached the 13–14-year-old Paris Thunder to win the 2001 State Championship. He was an avid High School athlete, “Iceman”, who held records for track, baseball, and basketball. He tried out for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1983, but went on to honorably serve in the U.S. Air Force.

 

All who knew Ken will remember him for his love of God, life, and laughter. He saw the world through caring eyes and took pride in his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a true family man. Ken was always there for you with a golden grin, high five, pat on the back, or hug.

 

Born August 29, 1963, in Dyersburg, TN, he was the son of the late Richard Jones, and Pat Vent (John) Lee, who survive of Paris.

 

Ken was married on October 13, 2018, to the love of his life, Teresa Jones who survives of Paris.

 

Along with his mother and wife, he is survived by three sons, Adam (Rachel) Jones of Brooklyn, NY, Brandon (Brandi) Jones of Paris, and Travis (Brittany) Hodge of Michie, TN; one sister, Breck (Joe) Frye of Paris; two brothers, Mark (Lizzy) Douglas of Elkins, WV and Mark (Tiffany) Lee of Franklin, TN; and 5 grandchildren, Freya Jones, Zoey Jones, Zoey Hodge, Gracie Hodge, Bryant Hodge.

 

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and continue Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to his service. His funeral service will be Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Eddie Mullinax officiating.

 

Serving as pallbearers will be Rod James, Bobby Robbins, Justin Stutzman, Joe Frye, Mark Douglas, and Eddie Mullinax. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Johnson, Tim Merwin, and all past players.

 

Burial with military honors will follow in Memorial Cemetery.
