Leslie Eugene "Gene" Lambert

Leslie Eugene “Gene” Lambert, age 79 of Mansfield, TN, died November 18, 2019, at Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris, TN.

He retired as a welder and fabricator after many years in Henry County and the surrounding area.  Gene was active in the Paris-Henry County Rescue Squad for over 26 years, serving as Chaplain for most of that time.  He was also a minister for many years, and a member of Christ Gospel Church in Camden, TN.  Gene loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren.  He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid gun and knife collector.

Gene was born June 19, 1940, in Sikeston, MO, to the late Leslie “Slick” Lambert and the late Sibble Marie Hampton Lambert.

He was married March 27, 1962, to his wife of 57 years, Lottie Sue Sutton Lambert of Mansfield, TN, who survives.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by one daughter, Cathy (Bruce) Herrin of Mansfield, TN; two sons, John (Sherry) Lambert of Mansfield, TN, and Rob (David) Lambert of Boston, MA; one sister, Geneva “Bebe” Whitney of Mansfield, TN; one brother, Tom Lambert of Jeffersonville, IN; four grandchildren, Bethany (Carl) Helton, Jennifer (Mark) Allgood, Meagan (Sergio) Garcia, and Chris Evans; and seven great grandchildren, Canaan Helton, Harleigh Helton, Seth Allgood, Dillon Allgood, Gio Garcia, Katilyn Evans, and Dustin Evans.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Anna Sue Mead; and two brothers, Carl Lambert and Randall Lambert.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN.  Visitation will be Wednesday, November 20, 2019, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and continue Thursday, November 21, 2019, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am.  The funeral service will be Thursday, November 21, 2019, at 11:00 am at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Rev. David Gleason officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be members of the Paris-Henry County Rescue Squad.

Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Hollow Rock, TN.
