Marie "Shorty" Jones

Marie “Shorty” Jones, age 79 of Paris, TN, died Friday, October 8, 2021, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.

She retired from Murray-Calloway County Hospital where she worked in housekeeping.  Shorty loved her family, gospel singing, and enjoyed helping others.  She also loved her dog, “Babi” and her cat, “Angel”.  She was Christian by faith.

Marie was born August 23, 1942, in St. Louis, MO, to the late Bud Manning and the late Lovis Windsor Manning.

She is survived by three daughters, Kim Glover of Paducah, KY, Tammy Garland (Stacey Suratt) of Springville, TN, and Robin (Barry) Hainley of Springville, TN; two sisters, Jan Hale of Puryear, TN, and Dora Burns of Poplar Bluff, MO; four grandchildren, Bill (Erin) Nored, Emily Howell, Linzy (Scott) Smith, and Gage Hainley; and five great grandchildren, Kayley Howell, Carson Howell, Eli Smith, Hank Nored, and Andy Nored.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242.  A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 4:00 pm at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Springville, TN, with Keith Nation officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Barry Hainley, Gage Hainley, Scott Smith, Stacey Suratt, and Joey Cooper.

Burial will follow the graveside service in Poplar Grove Cemetery.
