Marjorie Dyer Curd

January 13, 1933 ~ May 18, 2020 (age 87)

Marjorie Dyer Curd, age 87, passed away peacefully May 18, 2020, at Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN.

She was born January 31, 1933, in Paris, TN, to the late Charlie Lemuel Pierce and the late Hessie Turner Pierce and lived there among friends and family until her death.

She is survived by her daughter, Dana (Tom) Cunningham of Nashville, TN; one sister, Lillian Hastings of Paris, TN; two brothers, Billy Pierce of Paris, TN, and Bobby (Jody) Pierce of Paris, TN; and one granddaughter, Mackenzie Cunningham of Nashville, TN.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Don Dyer; her second husband, Freed Curd; three brothers, Orville Pierce, Charles Pierce, and Raymond Pierce; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

Margie worked at Paris Building Supply with her brother, Charles, for many years, and formed friendships and connections that lasted her entire lifetime.  Always independent, she worked for a time after retirement as a caregiver, and in so doing, continued caring for others as she had done throughout her life.

She was a dedicated member of Fairview Baptist Church in Paris. She remained active in the church and her church family was a much cherished part of her daily life. Margie was a devoted mother, mother in law, and grandmother. She loved her family, both immediate and extended, as well as her “forever friends”, and her warmth, counsel and laughter will be greatly missed.

And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this down:  Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed, says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”   - Revelation 14:13
