Mildred Elizabeth Corbin, age 80 of Puryear, TN, died Monday, January 4, 2021, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, KY.
Along with her husband, Mildred was the former owner of Corbin’s Corner in Puryear. She was a member of Puryear Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing solos, and was in the choir. Mildred was a homemaker for many years. She was the life of the room and enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, and working jigsaw puzzles.
Mildred was born September 3, 1940, in Buchanan, TN, to the late Alton Brooks Jackson and the late Elsie Stewart Jackson.
She was married July 5, 1958, to her husband of 62 years, Dwight Corbin, who preceded her in death on November 30, 2020.
She is survived by two daughters, Annette M. Corbin of Puryear, TN, and Karen Corbin-Baker of Puryear, TN; two sons, Michael (Traci) Corbin of Evans, GA, and Jason (Dana) Corbin of Central Florida; one brother, James Alton Jackson of Clinton Township, MI; three half-sisters, Sharon Paschall of Brentwood, TN, Karon Sampson of Central City, KY, and Patricia Reimold of Buchanan, TN; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Alice Frazier.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 6, 2021, from 12:00 pm – 2:30 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:30 pm in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Dwayne Chadwick officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Corbin, Aaron Corbin, Dakota Corbin, Jeremy Verdell, Michael Corbin, and Jason Corbin.
Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris.
