Peggy Holley

July 10, 1932 — January 7, 2021

Peggy Collins Holley, age 88 formerly of Puryear, Tennessee, died Thursday January 7, 2021, at Crestview Nursing Center in Shelbyville, KY.

Peggy retired from Holley Carburetor, a subsidiary of Colt Industries, after 37 years.  She was a former member of North Fork Baptist Church in the Jones Mill Community.  After moving to Kentucky to be closer to her family, she joined Smithfield Baptist Church in Smithfield, KY.

Peggy was happiest when surrounded by her family, friends, and church family.  She loved to teach Sunday school and was often found preparing her lessons and studying the Bible.  She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preserving food from their garden and preparing large meals for her family and friends.

Peggy was born, July 10, 1932, in Paris.  She was the daughter of Richard D. Collins and Hazel Bandy Collins Dinkins.  She was married to Edward Gerald Holley on July 15th, 1950, who preceded her in death on July 7, 1997.  Survivors include a daughter, Geralda Holley Smith (Jacky) of Shelbyville, KY; three grandchildren, Megan Smith Libke (Ryan) of Simpsonville, KY, Clint Austin Smith (Cassie) of Lexington, KY, and Caelin Smith Anderson (Jason) of Overland Park, KS; seven great grandchildren, Britton Gerald, Emmy and Hudson Libke, Collins and Caroline Smith, and Everett and Juliette Anderson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Collins; and her stepfather, Elvin E. Dinkins.

Visitation is scheduled from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Friday, January 15, 2021, at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with her funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Malcolm Norton officiating.  The public is asked to please wear masks and practice social distancing if attending the visitation or funeral service.

Pallbearers will be Clint Smith, Ryan Libke, Jason Anderson, Britton Libke, Joe T. Rainey, and Justin Stutzman.

Burial will be in Walker Cemetery in Paris.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to North Fork Baptist Church 1355 Jones Mill Crossland Road, Puryear, TN 38251.
