Roger Buffington

Roger James Buffington, age 75 of Paris, TN, died Friday, October 30, 2020, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.

He was a graduate from Gradwell University of Health Services. After graduation he worked for Benton Hospital, in Benton, KY. He then moved to Paris, where he worked at the Chesemore Clinic. Roger then started working for UPS, at the Paris  Hub where he retired as Hub Manager after 23 years with UPS.  He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Paris.  Roger was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the National Wildlife Turkey Federation, and the Tennessee River Longbeards.  He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Roger was born February 12, 1945, in Ellington, MO, to the late John Isaac Buffington and the late Freeda Fox Buffington.

He was married June 5, 1965, to Jane Rowlett Buffington, who survives, of Paris.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by his two sons, Rod Buffington of Paris, and Russ (Abbey) Buffington of Paris; five grandchildren, Austin (Maggie) Buffington, Hunter Buffington, Holly (Matt) Niebauer, Beckett Buffington, Bo Buffington, and one great grandson, Luke Niebauer.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Buffington and Charles Buffington.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Sunday, November 1, 2020, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Gerald Scott officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rod Buffington, Russ Buffington, Hunter Buffington, Austin Buffington, Leon Rogers, Bill Vandergriff, and Robb Rowlett.  Named as honorary pallbearers are Roger’s Tackle Box friends.

Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Paris, TN.
