Ronald Henry "Ron" Moody

Ronald Henry “Ron” Moody, age 73 of Paris, TN, died Monday, August 17, 2020, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.

He had a long career as an engineer in the automotive industry.  Ron was raised in Puryear, TN, by his foster parents, Ralph & Pearl Snody.  He was a member of the Henry County Gun Club.  He enjoyed reading, photography, and eating out with friends.  Ron loved golf, baseball, and to travel.  He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Paris.

Ron was born October 13, 1946, in Puryear, TN, to the late Connie Moody and the late Ruby Sutton Moody.

He was married July 5, 1968, to Charlotte Killebrew Moody, who survives, of Paris, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by one sister, Peggy (Joe Frankie) Smith of Louisville, KY; four nieces, Michelle (Tim) Tyler of Monee, IL, Sandra (Fred) Harned of Louisville, KY, Connie Janeen Lee of Michigan, and Rhue (Mike) Shelton of Hendersonville, TN; two nephews, Randy (Teresa) Smith of Louisville, KY, and Eric Gosnell; and several cousins, great nephews, a great-great niece, and a great-great nephew.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jacky R. Moody and Frankie Lee Moody; one niece, Cynthia J. Durbin; and one nephew, Terry Moody.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Saturday, August 29, 2020, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Joy Weathersbee and John Dale officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Smith, Nick Durbin, Dwight Durbin, Fred Harned, Eric Gosnell, and Mike Shelton.  Named as honorary pallbearers are Ron’s golfing buddies.

Burial will be in Puryear City Cemetery in Puryear, TN.
