Rozelle Parker Wright

Rozelle Parker Wright, age 91 of Hollow Rock, TN, died Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris.

She was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company before the days of dial telephones.  She also formerly worked for the Mitchum Company and at Tecumseh Products in Paris.  Rozelle was a homemaker who enjoyed crafts, sewing, and was an excellent cook.  She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Hollow Rock for many years.

Rozelle was born July 30, 1929, in Springville, TN, to the late John Quincy Parker and the late Bessie Provow Parker.

She was married October 11, 1948, to William Edward “Ed” Wright, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Ed) Johnson of Adamsville, TN; her two sons, Gary (Sheryl) Wright of Hollow Rock, TN, and David (Cindy) Wright of Louisville, KY; one sister, Laura Beeson of Louisville, KY; 11 grandchildren, Tracie Phillips, Jennifer Alvarez, John Register, Jr., Sandra Cline, Zachery Register, Cynthia Luken, John Wright, II, Allison Donahue, Wesley Wright, Kimberley Johnson, and Micah Uline; 24 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by eight sisters, Della Nanney, Leora Tolleson, Susan Parker, Carrie Taylor, Ruth Folsom, Mittie Smith, Margaret Parker, Myrtle Parker; and seven brothers Hubert Parker, Walton Parker, Alfred Parker, David Parker, Albert Parker, Carl Parker, and Frank Parker.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Sunday, February 7, 2021, from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at New Hope United Methodist Church, 2190 New Hope Road, Hollow Rock, TN 38342, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at the church, with Steve Whitworth officiating.

At the family’s request masks must be worn and all social distancing guidelines must be observed during both visitation and the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Wright, II, Wesley Wright, John Register, Jr., Zachery Register, Chuck Luken, and Grant Uline.

Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Hollow Rock, TN.
