Ted Paschall Nance

March 30, 1936 — June 20, 2020

Ted Paschall Nance, age 84 of Paris, TN, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020, at his residence.

Ted was a lifelong resident of Henry County, whose ancestors settled here in the 1820’s.  He was born on March 30, 1936, in the Jones Mill community as the ninth of ten children born to the late Guy Bronson Nance and the late Lamora Montez Paschall Nance.  On February 17, 1968, Ted married Judith “Judy” Robison, who survives, of Paris, TN.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Paris and a U.S. Army veteran, serving in 1958 and 1959.  One of Ted’s favorite hobbies was genealogy, and he and Judy spent more than 45 years tracing his roots through many states.  After working for a few years at the Milan Arsenal in Milan, TN, and Emerson Electric in Paris, Ted was employed by Fisher Price Toys in 1973 soon after they started up in Murray, KY.  He worked there as an industrial engineer until his retirement in 1992.  This stimulated a new interest and he became a collector of old, wooden Fisher Price toys.  These two hobbies provided Ted and Judy with many a fun trip, tracing down a genealogy clue or finding a new toy for his extensive collection.

Along with his wife, Ted is survived by one sister, Gwen Gingles of Murray, KY; one sister-in-law, Jacqui Pingree of Paris, TN; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ted was also preceded in death by four sisters, Esther Deering, Ruby Haygood, Buthel Cowden, and May Nell Wilkerson; and four brothers, Noble Lee Nance, John B. Nance, Charles Franklin Nance, and Bobby Nathan Nance.
