Tommye Franklin Clayton, age 77 of Paris, TN, died Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Henry County Healthcare Center.

He was the owner and operator with his wife Betty of Paris Florist & Gifts since 1979.  He designed on panels in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Missouri.  He was the former owner of A-C Variety Store and Radio Shack. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since February 1968.

Tommye was born February 18, 1940, in Buchanan, TN, to the late Ervin Clayton and Gertie Canady Clayton.

He was married February 23, 1962, to Betty Holley Clayton, who survives.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by one daughter, Lori (John) Cappa of Bedford, NH; two granddaughters, Morgan Cappa of Bedford, NH, and Casey Cappa of Birmingham, AL; two grandsons, Dustin (Elena) Clayton of White House, TN, and Derek Clayton and fiancé, Emily Wiley of White House, TN; two great grandchildren, Ethan and Olivia Clayton of White House, TN; one niece, Rita Lewis of Henry, TN; a special aunt, Bernice Rainey of Puryear, TN; and special cousins, Elizabeth Riley, Carrie Grooms, Geraldine Sykes, Janice Webb, and Nellie Williams.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Clayton Williams; one other sister in infancy; and one son, Gregory “Greg” Clayton.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Sunday, November 5, 2017, from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm.  Visitation will continue on Monday, November 6, 2017, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church in Paris.  The funeral service will be Monday, November 6, 2017, at 11:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church with Mike Wimberley and Dennis Vance officiating.

Pallbearers for the service will be Billy Fitzhugh, Bud Mangrum, Jon Trosper, Dustin Clayton, Derek Clayton, and John Cappa.  Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Little, Larry Wilson, Keith Fitzhugh, James Paschall and members of the 1958 graduating class of Buchanan High School.

Burial will follow the service in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, TN.
