William Crites

William Paul Crites, age 81 of Palmersville, TN, died Monday, April 5, 2021, at his residence.

He was Pentecostal in faith. William was a retired construction worker who formerly worked on several high-rise buildings in Chicago before later becoming a self-employed contractor.  He was also a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed playing baseball, softball, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family.

William was married November 2, 1968, to Barbara Jean Sykes Crites, who survives of Palmersville.

Born November 15, 1939, in Marion, IL, he was the son of the late Paul D. Crites and the late Florence Davis Crites.

He is survived by three daughters, Tiara M. (Bobby) Hardin of Woodstock, GA, Pamela Davis, and Barbara Dean both of Jasper, GA; one son, Michael W. Crites of Palmersville, TN; three brothers, Joe E. Crites of Indiana, Dennis Crites of Goreville, IL, and Charles Crites of Russellville, AL; four grandchildren, John Paul Webb, Bobbie Nicole Ray, Kayce Craig, and Chase Hardin; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald W. Crites and James D. Crites.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Memorial visitation will be Saturday, April 10, 2021, from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the memorial service beginning at 11:00 am in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Cecil Eugene Crites officiating.
